Police Inspector Santosh Dhobi of the local Intelligence Bureau said that these Pakistani citizens were detained from Akoli village here and the process of sending them back to their country is underway.

Forty-five Pakistani nationals belonging to the Hindu community have been detained in Gujarat’s Banaskantha on charges of overstaying their visas and after their applications for long term visas (LTV) were rejected, a police official said on Sunday.

Police Inspector Santosh Dhobi of the local Intelligence Bureau said that these Pakistani citizens were detained from Akoli village here and the process of sending them back to their country is underway.

He said that the Pakistani nationals had come to India to visit Haridwar in Uttarakhand. After this, they came to Banaskantha to meet their relatives. They were in India for the last two months on a valid visa. They stayed longer because their visa had expired. Their LTV was not approved. The police inspector said that they were in Banaskantha for the last four-five days.
